"Dutch Artifacts. In Social Studies class, 4th
grade students learned of the Dutch settlement in
New Jersey. Artifacts from that time show that
the Dutch were skilled craftworkers. The
"spoonboard" is an example of an artifact. A
spoon was often given to represent the birth of a
child. These spoonboards represent the children
in 4A and 4B."
